New lightweight Catrike 2013 Neck Rest: updated CNC clamps with built in anti rotation lock pins, 3 longitudinal top tray positions and light weight Quick Release for vertical adjustability. It also has an oversized pad and removable and washable top cover. (standard on Expedition and 700) Saxon, You may order it through your Catrike dealer or in our web storefront. And Robert, yes we had complaints of our previous neck rest and made a good effort down to the spacers, bolt and nut level to make this a very functional one.
Yes, but because it's an adjustable seat it would be better if you can try one at your dealer to make that it suits well.
Keith, we are working on a complete website update. So sorry is not done yet. In the meantime I can say that today we are concluding the Facebook update for the 2013. So the only accessory you have not seeing yet, which is also truly great is our new alloy front fender mounts. We will try to post it later today. Thanks!
The all new Catrike 700 2013 ships standard with a custom Velocity wheel with the Race Hub version and the A23 O/C (off center) rim. Weight 895g.
It provides very high rigidity. With the off set flange of the race hub, and the 3.4 mm off set of the OC rim it provides a very laterally stiff wheel. This is important for road bikes, but even more important for a trike. The Catrike 700 is also designed and constructed with a proper 130mm dropout spacing for a 700 wheel, therefore allowing the wheel to be upgraded to any other racing wheel in the market if desired.

Catrike has made a HUGE number of changes to their existing models. A few bits and pieces have trickled out here and there but I think this is the most complete summary that you’ll find. I’ve also included screenshots of the PDF that Catrike sent dealers and the media just to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Pics of all the changes are in those screenshots.
Probably the most noticeable change is to the stock component selection. For 2013 every Catrike model comes with a 30-speed SRAM drivetrain. This includes TT500 bar-end shifters, an X7 rear derailleur and an 11-36 cassette. The crankset is now upgraded to a 30-42-52 FSA Gossamer with a stock chainguard. The 700 has also gotten a lighter and stiffer Velocity rear wheel.
Catrikes also come with very cool new accessories. First of all there are new hand rests that mount on the handlebars behind the grips. These should be very nice for giving your arm a break while riding. You’ll also notice a new mirror/computer mount that also mounts on the handlebars. The standard Catrike headrest has also been improved with a larger pad, a quick release for adjustment and a rotational lock to make it more secure.
There are also a host of smaller but probably more significant design changes. Catrike has a new and lighter aluminum spindle design which drops almost half a pound off the weight of their trikes. There is also a new rear drop-out design that not only looks cool. it’s also much lighter and more rigid than the previous version. They’ve also redesigned the axle nuts on the front wheels. The old two-piece design has been replaced with a much cleaner-looking single domed piece that is… you guess it… lighter than the old version. See a pattern developing here? All Catrikes will also feature a much larger gusset where the boom joins the cruciform. This should greatly increase the trike’s rigidity.
As a refresher, earlier this year Catrike introduced new versions of the Pocket and 700. Both lost their 16″ wheels and got 20″ wheels up front.
Prices are $2150 for the Pocket, $2350 for the Trail and Villager, $2550 for the Expedition and $2950 for the 700 and Road. Color choices are a bit more limited this year to aid with the speed of production.
